PlanetWaves

Brussels, Sept. 2, 2006

Dear Friend and Reader:

We are rearranging some of the features on Planet Waves, and this includes discontinuing my daily blog as it's existed since October 2004, right before the presidential "election." For me as a writer, this is part of a project of pulling in a little bit and removing seven scheduled articles from my schedule each week. Outrageous as it is, for the past couple of years I've been doing about 15 articles a week, covering between 15,000 and 25,000 words of content production in a single week many times.

From my end, this is an integrity issue: meaning, I need to make a few decisions that help me enjoy more of my time, space and creative life, and not overwork (and by that I mean many 15 to 20 hour days in a row). This is very much an integrity issue because so much of Planet Waves is on the theme of taking possession of one's creativity and life choices. However, I'd much prefer to do this in a way that keeps things interesting for you, and creates involvement, i.e., where nobody loses and where Planet Waves fulfills its service. And I think I've come up with something creative.

So here is the new arrangement.

The front page blog will now be the Quote of the Day edition, which has been running for a month over on the Horoscope Homepage. This thread brings things buried in the archives into the light of day, surprising even me. This feature is edited by Tracy Sullivan. When relevant, I'll add "recommended reading" links to interesting articles that come my way.

Second is that we've introduced the Astrology Secrets Revealed Forum, with a few different writers home. This will mostly cover personal themes, enhanced by a diversity of writers, but when a news chart is up for discussion, or a world transit (such as an eclipse) we'll take it there as well. This will allow not just for a blog series, but for some discussion as well.

Next, I'm leaving the original blog programming up at http://ericfrancis.com/ -- but this will be updated on a different tempo and I will feel free to write about the sewer excavation project happening on my street on the day of Dick Cheney's resignation.

Last, I'll be using the Café Blog (on the subscriber homepage) to give astrology updates -- but in a format that I or another writer can do, so it will be possible to have stand-ins.

Now let's give up a big round of applause for decisions to help me get a handle on my life and creative energy!! And thank you everyone who is helping support these changes -- particularly the other astrologers, some people I truly love, who are getting their feet wet handing ASR questions.

Meanwhile, I play a hot show every Friday in Planet Waves Weekly. Learn about that here, and remember: you can pay to subscribe, and if you don't have the cash, just call or write and request a comp subscription, and we will be happy to give it to you for as long as you need.

Thanks for your time.

Yours & truly,
